Strength Guide

Choose your reading strength with less guesswork

Reading glasses are made for close-up tasks, not distance vision. Use your current reader strength when you already have a pair that works. If this is your first pair, start with the everyday distance where you normally hold a phone, book, menu, or label.

Simple starting points

  • +1.00 to +1.25: mild help for small text, labels, and occasional reading.
  • +1.50 to +2.00: a common everyday range for phones, menus, books, and desk tasks.
  • +2.50 to +4.00: stronger help for very close work or smaller print.
  • +3.50 and above: best for people who already know they prefer a stronger close-up reader.

If you are between strengths

Choose the lower strength when you want a more relaxed first try or when you hold text slightly farther away. Choose the higher strength only when the lower pair still leaves close-up text too small. If the first pair is not right, keep the glasses and packaging in returnable condition and use the exchange path.

Strength, then style

The right reader should look wearable too

Power matters, but so does whether the pair feels natural on your face, in your bag, and on your desk.

Low-risk first pair

If the first strength is close but not right, the 30-day exchange path keeps the decision simple.

Make the first choice calmer

Most strength uncertainty can be handled with a simple starting point and a clear exchange path.

Between two strengths?

Choose the lower strength when you want a more relaxed first try or hold text farther away.

Text still looks small?

Move one step stronger if close-up text still feels strained at your normal reading distance.

First pair of readers?

Start mild, keep packaging in good condition, and use the exchange path if the first pair is not right.

Need distance vision?

These are close-up readers for phones, books, menus, labels, and desk work, not distance prescription glasses.
